HDMI v1.3 Multi-input to Single Output HDMI Switches can cater for four (4), six (6) and up to eight (8) HDMI video sources to be connected to one (1) High Definition TV. All HDMI v1.3 and HDCP1.1 compliant, these units accept resolutions from PC VGA to UXGA and High Definition 480p/i to 1080p/i. The Digital Audio streams incorporated in the HDMI video stream are also split and distributed to each HDMI output port and works with Dolby Digital True HD and DTS-HD.

The majority of Video play and TV replay products now use HDMI connection as the main interface between devices. The majority of HDTV products have 1, or possibly 2 inputs, but this means that you have to swap over cables to your HDTV to watch the video source you want. This range of HDMI v1.3 Multi-input to Single Output HDMI Switches are configured as 4 input, 6 input and 8 input, ensuring that you have enough inputs available for all of your HDMI source products.

Control of the HDMI v1.3 Multi-input to Single Output HDMI Switches is done by a number of methods. Simple front panel control buttons or a hand held remote control unit allows the User to select the required input or to turn on/off the unit. CEC functionality allows for easy operation of all attached remote controlled devices and RS-232 PC serial control enhances the operation of the unit.

Attenuation of a High Definition HDMI signals over a HDMI cable varies according to the resolution and colour bits being transmitted. Standard HDMI video signal of 1080p@50/60Hz 8 bit colour can be effectively run up to 15 meters on the inputs or the output. As the colour bit rate increases, the transmission distance will drop, but even at 1080p@50/60Hz 12 bit colour the distance can be 15 meters in and 6 meters out. An in-built signal enhancement technology circuit helps improve the HDMI signal by re-generating and re-shaping the signal ready for the next stage.
