This unit converts digital HDMI to digital video (DVI-D) and audio (SPDIF) output. It enables you to split the HDMI source into it's video component via DVI and it's audio component via SPDIF.
Since HDMI is only digital it will only output digital video DVI-D and digital audio SPDIF.
